Plant Accountant I Job Description Just 65 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Allentown – or Lehigh Valley – is in close proximity to many of the major Northeastern U.S. cities, which makes it an ideal location for manufacturing and distributing consumer goods. We utilize thermal processing and high-speed canning to produce varieties of our Friskies®, Mighty Dog® and Alpo® brands – brands we have carefully produced, packaged and shipped since 1955. As a Plant Accountant, you’ll be responsible for accurately reporting key areas of Factory Costs including; Labor, Energy, Capital spending, Fixed Assets, and Maintenance. You’ll also have the opportunity to be a contributing member of Continuous Improvement Teams on site. The Plant Accountant is a key player in compliance management for the Allentown Factory through auditing, educating, and developing documentation. You’ll be able to collaborate internally in order to support and facilitate safety, health and environmental objectives.   • Manage month end preparation and budget analysis.
  • Prepare and distribute various reports through period such as Production, Capital Spending, Labor and Variable Manufacturing Expenses.
  • Monitor plant energy usage and pricing to determine improvement opportunities.
  • Cross train and cover for Production Data Coordinators as needed.
  • Provide financial analysis to drive cost savings implementation to Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Detailed management of Capital Assets.
  • Contribute to TPM teams through participation in pillar projects and problem solving.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of manufacturing accounting experience

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems in a manufacturing/production environment, SAP preferred.
