Summary of Position:
The Pharmacovigilance (PV) Tech Lead will serve as a member of the PV Leadership team, reporting to the Director of US Companion Animal/Equine Pharmacovigilance. The incumbent will co-lead the PV Tech team with a focus on strategizing future growth, building infrastructure, and developing the PV Technicians to further expand their capabilities within the department. The PV Tech Lead will oversee and directly manage a team, including (but not limited to) a PV Tech Manager, PV Technicians, and PV Assistants. This position will be responsible for driving excellence in customer service and ensuring compliance in all pharmacovigilance activities. The PV Tech Lead is responsible for successful resolution of product complaints handled by the PV Technicians, managing the PV Tech Schedule, hiring and onboarding new PV Techs, overseeing new hire training, and driving ongoing development of the PV Tech team.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Oversee, direct, mentor, train, and support a team of veterinary technicians (contractors and our Company's employees) to successfully resolve inquiries and product complaints (including adverse events, medication errors and product quality complaints) associated with our Company's Animal Health (AH) Companion Animal portfolio.
Collaborate with current PV Tech Lead as a partner to lead the PV Tech Team.
Through training and support, grow the PV Tech team and develop the PV Techs to take on new ways of working with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
Coach and oversee a PV Tech Manager (direct report), whose role is to manage a portion the PV Technicians.
Oversee and manage the PV Assistants (Admins) and Check Request process.
Coordinate the PV Tech Schedule for optimal phone coverage to meet the needs of AH’s customers and compliance requirements.
Share best practices and organizational learnings with the broader PV Leadership team, PV Team, and company-wide organization, where appropriate.
Background & Education:
Masters degree required, DVM or PhD Degree preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in management and/or team leadership.
Previous experience working in a call-center environment.
Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Technical Services, Pharmacovigilance or Regulatory Affairs.
Previous experience working in a private veterinary practice preferred.
Strong strategic leadership ability.
Ability to manage budget and resources effectively.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to successfully partner cross-functionally within the PV Leadership team.
Ability to motivate and lead through change in a remote work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with the PV-Works database and government regulations on pharmacovigilance.
Demonstrated computer proficiency including MS Office products.
