BIOMARKER ASSAY DEVELOPMENT INTERN

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Internship Summary:

This internship will provide the opportunity to learn cutting edge bioanalytical technology in an industry setting and will focus on developing the intern’s knowledge in biomarker screening and assay development. The intern will work closely with the hiring manager to assess the usefulness of the biomarker assays developed and assess how individual assays can be transferred into multiplex formats as well as other assay platforms as needed.

Internship Job Duties:

  • Design primers for qRT-PCR assays
  • Extract RNA and quantify
  • Run qRT-PCR assays
  • Screen antibodies
  • Develop immunoassays
  • Analyze data
  • Learn about other immunoassay and RNA-based technologies through literature review and other techniques currently used in the laboratory

Internship Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree
  • Background in molecular genetics or biochemistry is preferred
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Enrolled in a degree program during the Spring term preceding internship
  • Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies and a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Successfully pass a background check and drug screen
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving & analytical skills
