Job Description – Commercial Lead, Global Commercial Development Diagnostics
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
The Commercial Lead, Diagnostics Global Commercial Development (GCD) will initially focus on leading and maturing the execution of the Global Commercial Development elements in the S.O.P. release process. This person needs to be a respected leader with proven success leading cross-functional teams and demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They will document, develop standard artifacts, evangelize organizational alignment as well as coordinate with additional teams to ensure organizational partnerships including strategic planning and process development planning within the Diagnostics area. They will partner with Veterinary Medicine Research & Development (VMRD) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to advance organizational coordination. Additionally, the individual will partner with Reference Lab leadership on building standard operating procedures to advance high-volume production testing. The Commercial Lead will be an active member of the cross-functional Global Asset Team (GAT).
As a leader in the Zoetis organization, the Commercial Lead models Zoetis core beliefs and communicates the importance of conducting business in a manner consistent with Zoetis values and behaviors. This function reports to the Head of Global Commercial Development Diagnostics.
- Lead and mature the lifecycle planning process for new and on-market products.
- Lead the development and execution of global launch plans for new Diagnostic products.
- Support launch planning, milestones, cross-functional coordination for products.
- Partner with Medical, Marketing, Sales and Support to mature the Reference Lab processes for new test menus and high-volume tests
- 10+ years of strategy consulting and equivalent academic / industry experience required.
- Global product lifecycle management of reference laboratory instrumentation, creating business cases for new products, defining volumes for manufacturing/operations, informing sales forecasts, and creating value propositions to define regionally focused product pricing and positioning.
Other Knowledge & Qualifications
Strong communication skills including excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Strong Skills in project management, analytical thinking, and planning/ organization.
Proficient at Microsoft Office (excel, word, PowerPoint).
MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred. • Knowledge of global veterinary diagnostic market preferred.
Collaborative in a cross-functional matrix organization.
Effectively working in a highly matrixed environment, with proven ability to negotiate and influence across multiple stakeholder groups in the organization (R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Commercial Organization).
Strategic thinker with ability to clearly define short-term and long-term objectives as well as align resources to successfully deliver these objectives.
Ability to influence and engage senior executives.
Proven ability to work in cross-cultural settings.
Ability to manage multiple and complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent relationship building and consultative skills – team player and highly collaborative.
Strong management experience.
Possible travel involved - approximate 35%.
