Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency is required
A minimum of one year experience within the equine veterinary industry is preferred
A minimum of one year of experience within customer service or phone sales preferred
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
Strong listening skills and verbal communication skills including ability to demonstrate diplomacy and professionalism
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work accurately with highly detailed information
Basic computer skills to include data entry
Attention to detail to assure accuracy of orders
Fast pace of work to meet frequent deadlines
Regular interaction with people
Potential for stress related to a typical customer service problem resolution process
Continuous and sometimes rapid use of hands for writing and computer keyboard
Continuous use of a computer monitor requiring close vision
Continuous use of a telephone, listening and speaking skills
Ability to work at a desk throughout the day
Ability to attend off-site meetings which may require air travel

Regular use of office equipment including computer keyboard and terminal, telephone, fax, and copier.

Work is typically performed in an office environment, as well as a warehouse environment which include a relatively temperature controlled climate where moderate heat, cold and humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Some travel may be required for training meetings with Manufacturers or Corporate office. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday. Working more than 40 hours per workweek may be required.

Job Description

To provide the best customer service possible in a positive and professional manner, by providing clinics with information on promotions, pricing, product updates, answers to questions and speedy resolution of their concerns and problems. Provide the same quality of service to internal customers by supporting their efforts which will ultimately enhance the quality of service and relationship Midwest Veterinary has with its clients.

Take orders for products over the phone from clinics, field sales representatives and manufacture representatives and enter them into the system. Heavy outbound calls to clinics in an effort to solicit orders and provide information related to new products and promotions.

Be the go-to person for Equine questions from ISRs in the branch as well as OSRs. Initiate equine training with Manufactures and/or training directives from the Equine Manager. Works closely with Equine Manager to roll out promotions, spiffs and other programs to the team. Watch and achieve monthly branch equine goals as assigned.

Resolve unique demands to include: problem solving, completion of paperwork for credits, call tags, price quotes, special orders, address change requests and sales blitz tallies. Read, understand and organize mail, fax and emails and listen to voice mail correspondence received from internal and external customers as they relate to products, promotions and procedures.

Develop and facilitate monthly educational training for branch ISRs addressing equine-related topics. Prepare and distribute weekly email communication to branch ISR team addressing progress toward equine vendor goals, core products, and promotions.

Complete research as a result of clinic inquiries and fax or mail product information as requested.

Perform other duties as assigned.
